Course Description:

Dental hygienists have a passion for treating and preventing dental diseases and are dedicated to educating patients on ways to maintain and improve their oral health. As dental hygienists, we have a great responsibility and are legally bound to thoroughly and accurately document the procedures performed and treatment recommended during the dental hygiene appointment.  Of course, we can’t talk about documentation without talking about the hygiene appointment components; what we are doing, what we are seeing, and what we and the dentist are recommending. This CE course will review key components of the hygiene appointment and will share important elements of documentation essential for providing continuity of care from the entire dental team.  As our profession evolves dental hygienists responsibilities are constantly changing.  Time management plays a role in providing exceptional care to patient, but is it also needed to create an accurate legal representation of all components of the dental visit.
