2019 LONE STAR CUP TRYOUTS

WEEKEND MATCHES TO BE SCHEDULED THROUGH THE MONTH OF MARCH

The 2019 LONE STAR CUP will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio. Chapters participating include Louisiana, Arkansas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Ft. Worth, Dallas, and for the first time, the New Mexico chapter. The final two-day competition is played on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2. This is a match play tournament with Day One competition consisting of either alternative shot or four ball and Day Two being singles matches.

Tryouts to select the 12-woman team will be held during March. All champter members with an established handicap are eligible to compete and ALL skill levels of participants are encouraged to tryout. Players must play three matches and will earn points for singles and team play. The top 10 will qualify then 2 captain's picks will be selected to compete on the team. If you have already qualified or anticipate committing to the Fort Worth team, we would prefer you not participate in the Dallas tryouts.

Please only sign up to try out if you are available to get three matches in during the weekends in March (various tryout dates will be offered; must be able to commit to three).
Please only sign up if you are going to be available, if you make the team, to compete June 1st and 2nd (and practice round May 30th) in San Antonio, Texas
Qualifying team members will be expected to participate in practice matches, skills clinic and team meetings prior to the competition.
Costs for quallifying team members will include the event fee of $265, which covers golf on Saturday and Sunday, a welcome dinner on Friday night and the awards lunch on Sunday. Additional costs will include travel expenses (transportation, lodging, etc.), the cost of two team shirts, and the practice round cost.

FUN PLAY will also be available both days of the competition and will be held at the same course. Spouses are also welcome to join FUN PLAY
