Brexit Contingency Planning Workshop

This is not another Brexit event. Co-produced by EDAS and The Fraser of Allander Institute, this practical workshop will assist you in planning and preparing for the next twelve months. No matter the final UK-EU deal (or ‘no deal’), or progress on future trade arrangements, uncertainty will be embedded within the business and economic development community for the foreseeable future. This workshop is designed to assist economic development practitioners, benefiting both their own organisations and also providing practical advice and information in helping them support businesses.

We will look at a range of scenarios and issues and what they mean for sectors in coping with uncertainty – from short-term questions to wider strategic decisions. We will discuss the key areas where uncertainty and change may impact on businesses and agencies and the types of contingencies that can be undertaken to minimise risk but also maximise opportunities.

Setting the scene is, Professor Graeme Roy, Director, Fraser of Allander Institute and Ewan Mearns, Strategy Partner, Scottish Enterprise – helping to deliver the www.PrepareforBrexit.scot campaign.   Graeme and Ewan are joined by senior representatives from, Business Gateway, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Development International, Scottish Government, Skills Development Scotland and SLAED (Scottish Local Authorities Economic Development group).

Through group work sessions, our team will help problem solve, signpost and answer the questions arising in your day to day work.
