March 9, 2019 - Low Light Pistol Training

Low Light Pistol training

Here the warrior scholar is forged. Pounded to perfection through discipline and dedicated
study, repetition and attention to detail.
Welcome to Skill Builder. This group format workshop is not a basic level firearms course.
This is not the time for hand-holding and sweet talking, nor is it for showing you how to use
your gear. It is an affordable, safe, and fast paced opportunity for the developing shooter to
practice and perfect his or her technique; To stretch his or her limits of speed and accuracy
under time and peer pressure, guided by as-necessary instruction from professional trainers.
The fast paced class offers minimal talking, and maximum hands-on time.
This class focuses on perfect repetition of perfect handgun technique.
Those who have seen the light understand that there is no such thing as an “advanced”
technique, or an “advanced” gunfight. Simply put, the mastery of core principles, or the
lack thereof, is the only thing which differentiates the professional from the amateur, the
victor from the victim.
In this class, you will push yourself to mental exhaustion, run your equipment to the point of
failure, develop confidence in your gun-handling abilities and metal toughness, grow in
discipline and moral character, and become faster, stronger, more alert, and more accurate
than you previously thought possible.
We will run drills that isolate and allow you to perfect these skills:
Universal principles of gun safety
Slow, meticulous, efficient weapon manipulation
Non-diagnostic clearance of simple malfunctions
Smooth, efficient, fast presentation from ready positions
Slow, consistent, safe use of the holster
Effective use of coats and cover garments in concealed carry
Aggressive, stable, and mobile fighting stance
Your eyes, how they work in varying levels of ambient light
Principles of fighting in low light
Alternate crude aiming methods for speed shooting
4 modern handheld flashlight techniques for handgun
One handed pistol marksmanship and manipulation
Hard lateral movement to reduce your likelihood of leaking fluid
Moving and multiple threat engagements
Awkward and improvised shooting positions
You will need:
1 gallon of water
Pistol or revolver
250 rounds of practice ammo
A stiff belt attached to your pants, with a safe and sturdy holster (If in doubt, call 408-892-
5460 to discuss)
Optional: Secondary back up handgun and holster

Pockets or pouches for your ammunition
Gun cleaning kit with oil, barrel cleaning rod, and tools for mounting and adjusting your
optics and accessories

Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, weather appropriate clothing; We shoot rain or shine
Bright, durable and reliable handheld flashlight
