Please join us for the March 13th Gabriel Chapter Lunch Meeting at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant in McLean, VA.  Our guest speaker is Brigadier General Jay "Scott" Goldstein, who is the Mobilization Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Air Force.  He is responsible for assisting the Under Secretary in the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including the organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of approximately 670,000 active duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian Airmen and their families world-wide.  He helps oversee the Air Force's annual budget of over $190 billion and directs strategy and policy development, risk management, weapons acqusition, technology investments and human resource management across a global enterprise.  He is responsible for assisting the Under Secretary in implementing decisions of the President and Congress, and fulfilling Combatant Commanders' current and future operational requirements.

Per Air Force Posture Statement FY2019, "Great power competition has reemerged as the central challenge to U.S. prosperity and security."  At our AFA ASC Conference last September, SECAF Heather Wilson briefed that, based on the results of an in-depth analysis of what the Air Force needs to implement the National Defense Strategy, "The Air Force is too small for what the nation is asking us to do.  The Air Force We Need has 386 operational squadrons by 2030."  Brig Gen Goldstein will discuss national security challenges, the Air Force We Need, and a digitial Air Force.

The menu will consist of a three course meal of salad, Italian entrees, and dessert. 

Price is $45 for Members Still Working, and $30 for Retired Members (no longer working).  There is no charge for activey duty, government employees, and Chapter Platinum, Gold, Silver Sponsors to attend.  If the active duty and government employee wishes to pay, just sign up in the Still Working category.
