Peace Learning Center is looking for open-minded, dedicated, and adventurous teens to participate in a two week long summer day camp. This camp will cultivate your leadership skills, introduce you to amazing people, and support you in developing your power for social justice.   Following the camp, the group will meet monthly to continue our work for Social Justice.

The camp does have a sliding fee from $10-$200. However, if your family cannot afford to pay, please indicate that on your application. We promise that the price will NOT get in the way of your ability to be chosen for the program.

Here are some quick facts about the program:

  • Cost: Sliding Fee Scale from $10-$200 (which also covers breakfast and lunch each day)
  • Ages: 13-19 (at the time of camp)
  • Camp Dates: July 8-20, 2019 (includes two overnights on Fridays - No camp on Sundays)
  • Camp Time: 9 am to 4:30 pm
  • Main Location: Downtown Indy and Peace Learning Center, see map for directions for drop-off and pick-up
  • Camp themes include: Who are you? Team Building, Social Justice Leadrship, Meet up with SJ Leaders, Camp Out, Racial Justice, Economic Justice, Gender and Sexuality Justice, Using your voice for power, Self-care, and Final Celebration!

If you are unable to complete this application online, please contact Clare Wildhack-Nolan at 317-327-7144.

After reviewing the applications we will then conduct phone interviews to make our final decisions on camp participants. We will begin interviews and admiting students in late May. Acceptance into the camp will be based on the individual’s enthusiasm and passion for attending the camp due to its content. Our goal is to include a diverse mixture of campers from across the entire city, including students from public, private and charter schools. If you are not admitted this session,we encourage you to re-apply in the future.
