The complete training offers approximately 18-22 contact hours of continuing education, depending on the training format.
The curriculum covers the following infant and early childhood mental health-related content:
Goal: Setting the stage for learning about infant and early childhood mental health
Module 2: Understanding the Importance of Culture in Infant Mental Health
Goal: The role of culture in childhood development
Module 3: Child and Family Development
Goal: Developmental milestones and implications for infant and early childhood mental health
Module 4: Relationships
Goal: Relationships as a vehicle for infant and early childhood mental health and well-being
Module 5: Building a Brain – Biology and Environment
Goal: The connection between brain development and infant and early childhood mental health
Module 6: Early Adversity and Toxic Stress
Goal: Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how bodies respond to stress
Module 7: Reflective Practice
Goal: How and why to engage in reflective practice
Module 8: Self-Care
Goal: Self-care for early childhood professionals (based extensively on the work of the Devereux Center for Resilient Children)
The course content supports the Competencies associated with the Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health (IMH-EŽ). Thus, time spent at this workshop would count toward Training hours for IMH-EŽ or continuing education hours required for IMH-EŽ 2020 annual renewal.
Dates for the Training are as follows:
Day 1: Tuesday, April 9, 2019
Day 2: Monday, May 20, 2019
Day 3: Tuesday, May 21, 2019
All days will go from 9:00am - 5:00pm
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.

PLEASE NOTE: Preference will be given to participants who can commit to attending
ALL 3 DAYS.
