Standing at The Edge of Parenting:

Looking at Challenging Issues

A Parenting Workshop with Karen Rivers

Join us for a presentation with Karen Rivers, Waldorf Educator, who will share insights into these challenging issues and facilitate a conversation that yields concrete skills to raise healthy, contributive individuals who intrinsically love life.

Parents are engaged in founding the mental health of the next generation. This is a tremendous responsibility for all of us who are striving to raise emotionally healthy children.
Two primary causes of alienation between children and parents are anger and pride.
As parents some of our aspiring goals are:
  • being positive role models for children
  • guiding, disciplining, and socializing our children
Join the conversation and you will have:
  • an opportunity to express the most challenging issues you face in parenting, receive guidance and partake in discussion about it
  • an authentic invitation to clarify what values and goals you wish to give to your children
  • a better understanding of anger and pride, how they affect your children, and how you can consciously create healthy communication with your children
  • an understanding of overindulgent parenting that leads to self-centeredness and a sense of entitlement in children — an epidemic of our time
  • a profile of four parenting styles and their impacts on children: authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent, neglectful

Workshop fee: $75

Location: Marin Waldorf School
