STREETS has helped 300 youth transition from the despair of poverty to newfound careers in the hospitality industry through a comprehensive 18-month residential training program that combines classroom learning with hands-on apprenticing at the STREETS Restaurant Café and Oodles of Noodle Market Tour in Hoi An, Vietnam. 100% of graduates within 60 days of graduation start careers in international hotels, resorts and restaurants.
In 2014, STREETS was honored for its innovative work by being awarded a membership to the Clinton Global Initiative. In 2015, and again 2018, Hyatt Hotels recognized STREETS with an international Hyatt Community Grants Award. In 2016, STREETS recruited its first all Ho Chi Minh City class. In 2018, STREETS founder, Neal Bermas, was honored to be selected as a CNN ‘Hero of the Year.’
