March CPCU Lunch Meeting

"Driving Decisions With Data... How Much is TOO MUCH??"

How to C.O.L.O.R. in the Lines of Change

The Central Illinois CPCU Society Chapter is pleased to deliver this luncheon presentation on March 6th, 2019. Vegetarian meals are available.

The Central Illinois CPCU Ethics Committee will host an interactive discussion where you will help as we build a social scoring system for use in the United States!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Data is everywhere. Everything about us, including our driving habits, our credit history, our purchase history, where we travel to, who we are with, and what we post on social media, may be captured and analyzed.

In business, we feel that many of our best decisions are driven by data. In insurance, driving habits, credit scores, and health information may be used to assess risk and factored into underwriting decisions.

But what is the appropriate use of data?  In our March ethics meeting for the Central Illinois CPCU Society Chapter, we’ll explore how data such as driving habits, social media postings, fitness activities, citations for dog leash or waste violations, and online purchases may be used to create a “social score” that enables higher scorers to access discounts at hotels, travel incentives, and enhanced scores on dating sites.  You will have an opportunity to weigh in on what should and should not be included as we build a social scoring system for use in the United States.

This thought provoking session is brought to you by the Ethics Committee for the Central Illinois CPCU Society Chapter.   Join us on Wednesday, March 6th at the Chateau Hotel and Conference Center as we explore how far YOU are willing to go!

Please reserve a vegetarian meal at checkout if needed.

The event fee is $13 for standard registration. Guests are welcome.
