Conversational Spanish for Medical Personnel

What do you do if a patient needs your help, but you can't understand them?  What if you encounter worried family members, but aren't able to reassure them that everything will be fine?  Those is in the medical field can easily find themselves in such situations.  This weekly course meets 1.5 hours each Tuesday afternoon for 8 weeks.  This course not only focuses on the language, but also important cultural aspects that will help you to understand the thought process of a billingual individual.   

Our insturctor, Gaby Skelton has been a Spanish teacher for over 20 years.  She started her language learning adventure for English in Mexico and that ultimately brought her to the US.  She has taught Pre-K through college students and adults in various job fields.  

Come alone, with a partner, in a group, or bring your whole team!  The need for becoming bilingual in our world is growing everyday!    

Topics Covered:

• Introduction and conversation starters
• Request personal information from patients
• Practice vocabulary that is related to most common body parts
• Create a balanced meal according to patient's needs
• How to communicate with adults & children experiencing pain
• Count and use numbers from 0-100
• Vocabulary related to medical equipment
• Help your brain think in Spanish and English
• Reading and speaking out loud
• Spanish in the future
