The Compassionate Friends RVA
2019 Walk to Remember

The Compassionate Friends RVA Walk to Remember is something many people have come to look forward to each year. It was created as a symbolic way to show the love we carry for the loved ones we grieve and miss. There is an air of anticipation and excitement as everyone gathers in preparation for the start of the Walk. After a dove release the Walk begins and everyone walks, meditating on a much different time in their lives. Some go the full distance while others only walk a short way knowing that in participating, they are remembering. Special Walk to Remember t-shirts will be given to those who register by the deadline of April 1, 2019.  Everyone will receive a walk bib where the names of the loved ones being remembered can be written.

Please share this event with others and invite family and friends to walk in memory of someone they miss.

Special Guest Speaker - Anne Moss Rogers

Anne is a local Public Speaker sharing messages of hope and healing.  After the death of her youngest son, Charles, she sold her business and began focusing on taboo topics of suicide, addiction, mental illness and grief. She is also the President of The Beacon Tree Foundation and was featured as a CBS6 Heroes Among Us.  Join Anne’s mailing list for inspirational updates as well as a copy of her eBook, "Coping Strategies for Grief & Loss", which she co-wrote with Karla Helbert LPC, and Charlotte Moyler. You can also join her blog, #griefhearts, which gives suicide loss survivors and those who’ve suffered the death of a loved one from addiction, permission to remember that person. Without shame. Without blame. Without guilt.  You can learn more about Anne by visiting her website.
