Waldorf Practical Arts Training Module # 9

with Jack Bryant and Mona Lewis

HARD CRAFTS: For hard crafts in this this module we will be making a simple, one stringed instrument called a dulcimer or "strum stick". This project is appropriate for high school students. Each participant will make their own instrument.

SOFT CRAFTS: For the final module in soft crafts, we will explore Basketry as taught in the High School. We will make pine needle baskets, reed baskets and coiled baskets. We will also study advanced plant dye techniques, using our dyed yarn in the coiled basket project.

And finally, we will have an introduction to making foraged inks, learning to create beautiful colors for painting and writing on paper using earth and botanical sources.

ANTHROPOSOPHY: For the study in module #9 we will review the core principals of Waldorf Education, school governance and collaborative leadership in the Waldorf school.
