Building Your Consulting Business

Who should attend?

Individuals who want to start a consulting business or practicing consultants who feel they need to manage and grow their business more effectively.

Overview

In this gig economy, we tend to think it is easy to start a consulting business and earn a lot of money. But consulting isn’t as easy as people imagine.  That’s because it means wearing many hats: simultaneously being a CEO, marketer, bookkeeper, salesperson, content developer, advisor, problem solver and more.

This workshop will help participants get closer to realizing their dreams by walking them through the emotional requirements and practical tools needed for success as a consultant.

Topics covered will include an assessment to see if you are ready to be a consultant, marketing strategies to help you stand out in the crowd of consultants looking for business and so much more.

At the end of the workshop you will have the knowledge and resources to:

  • Determine if you have what is required to be a successful consultant
  • Describe your business in a way that makes you stand out from competitors
  • Identify and attract potential clients
  • Develop a pricing strategy
  • Write effective proposals and contracts

You will also learn:

  • Time management techniques
  • Ways to overcome self-imposed obstacles to success
  • How to manage client expectations and deal with difficult clients
