PharmaSim Simulation

PharmaSim is a marketing management simulation based on the over-the-counter cold medicine industry. While it focuses on brand management, the issues raised apply to marketers in any industry. In PharmaSim, your students will learn the importance of understanding customer needs, creating awareness for your products, finding the best distribution model, and deriving an appropriate pricing structure.

PharmaSim experience:

The PharmaSim marketing simulation was already in place when I began teaching marketing courses at Florida State College in 2010, and I have not stopped featuring it in all of my marketing courses at two universities since.  I believe it is important to engage students in the application of concepts learned in class.  PharmaSim provides a life-like experience in marketing decision-making that helps students value market, customer and competitor intelligence and gives them a taste of the risks and rewards of their actions.  Playing PharmaSim is relatively easy to learn and motivates student passion for success and even competition.  Due to my positive experience with PharmaSim, I also employ other simulations in different disciplines.
