April 13 Food as Medicine – Anti-inflammatory Cooking Class! 

Learn-Connect-Explore-Taste- in this creative “Food as Medicine” cooking Class with Tish Hilyer, NAMA certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, LMBT, RYT and Carol Shimberg, MS, RDN, Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist .

Some of the recipes we will demonstrate and sample:

  • Spring Asparagus Soup
  • Strawberry Cardamon Chia Seed Pudding
  • Avocado Edamame Hummus with Lentil chips and Fresh Vegetables of Spring

Time: 11 am-1 pm in the Community Room at the Hendersonville Community Co-op                                                                           

Learn how to create simple, seasonal, delicious, nutritious and affordable recipes. Join Tish and Carol as they share their passion and knowledge in this cooking class with foods of Spring. We will explore the health benefits of a planted based diet in the prevention and management of chronic diseases and the role of anti-inflammatory herbs and spices. This class is designed to help participants adopt a more whole foods plant based diet by providing support, education and simple recipes for success!

Other topics will include discussions on Intermittent Fasting and Cleansing

Tish and Carol will discuss the "food as medicine" approach to optimal health and well-being. We will prepare a variety anti-inflammatory whole food recipes for Winter and have nourishing tasty samplings!
