LHRMA - March 2019 Monthly Meeting

Exerting Influence without Authority

Presented by Karen Robertson, Owner at Healthy Heads + Hearts, LLC

When leaders say that people are their greatest asset, you might think that they would consider the people they hire to manage that asset critical to their organization, wouldn’t you?  Yet, so many human resource professionals report feeling undervalued, excluded and even disrespected by the leaders of their organizations or departments with competing agendas.  What is the key to getting our expertise used?  How do we create the kind of organizational environment where we can allow everyone’s expertise to contribute and avoid the competing agendas?  The key to solving that dilemma is to build specific interpersonal skills that encourage employees to pay attention to and understand the emotional and personal dimensions of our workplace.  This workshop will provide a framework for understanding and building the critical skills of influencing each other for the good of the organization.
