We'll start with a 3:15pm tour of the historic ship, Wavertree, at the South Street Seaport. *This tour is strictly limited to 30 people - don't hesitate to register!*
The 130-year-old Wavertree is an archetype of the sailing cargo ships of the latter half of the 19th century, and recently underwent a $13 million city-funded restoration project. The 90-minute guided tour will focus on the Wavertree's storied past as well as the next chapter of her life as the flagship of the South Street Seaport Museum.
Earlier in the day, tour participants will also be permitted to view the lightship, Ambrose, as well as wander around the Visitor Center and take in an exhibition on oceanliners titled, Millions: Migrants and Millionairs aboard the Great Liners, 1900-1914.
Later that evening, join fellow ESF alumni for cocktails and dinner at The Smith - Midtown. Enjoy a plentiful "family style" meal which will include table hors d'oeuvres, 3 Starters, 1 Pasta Dish, 2 Mains, 2 Sides and Dessert, as well as an open beer & wine bar. Come hungry!
Interim College President Dr. David Amberg plans to join us for dinner and will give a brief College Update to the group.
