“Eligible to Apply for the Autism Waiver, Now What?!”

Autism Waiver Information Session

 

This informative presentation will help families understand how to create a successful home and community-based program through the Autism Waiver (AW).

 
AW Service Coordinators will provide an overview of services offered through the AW,  explain their roles,  AW eligibility requirements, the application process, and what happens when an individual is approved for AW services.  

 
Parents who receive AW services will share their experiences working with providers, instructors, and multi-disciplinary team members; how to develop treatment plan goals; and how to maximize the benefit from AW services.

 
Panel of Service Coordinators and Parents will participate in a Q&A discussion, offering tips for running a successful home and community-based program.

Presenters:Beth Benevides (Hussman Institute for Autism), Trish Kane (Pathfinders for Autism), and Sheri  Weissman (The Coordinating Center).
 

Maryland State Department of Education Autism Waiver staff will be available for questions.
