Please join us on Tuesday, April 16th at the Triad Theater, for the Power of Music Concert Series - presented by Daniel's Music Foundation and One Vision Music. Enjoy moving performances by Dina Fanai and Bob Kinkel, as well as the Co-Founder of Daniel's Music Foundation, Daniel Trush with Artistic Director, Gerard Powers plus other special guests, as they share their own personal experiences of the transformative power of music. Priya Darshini Priya Darshiniis a New York-based musician, actress, athlete and activist who has attracted international attention for her unique and multi-faceted career. Priya has shared the stage and collaborated with some of the most influential music leaders of the century, including Pearl Jam, six-time Grammy award-winners Victor Wooten (bass) and Roy “Futureman” Wooten (drummer and composer), Karsh Kale among many others. Based in Brooklyn, Priya has sung for over a hundred television and radio commercials as well as recorded for several award-winning and chart-topping movie soundtracks, including in the Hollywood movie, “The Letters”. The Indian Express calls her music “soul-stirring,” The Asian Age calls her a "true cultural ambassador". Taking her roots from Indian Classical music, Priya’s vast knowledge of a variety of music from all over the world has resulted in a fresh, imaginative and fascinating new sound. She displays an enviable combination of range, technique, unconventional compositions and a prodigious voice that truly sets her apart from other vocalists and has the ability to both intrigue and captivate any audience. Her strong tie to India has continued, despite her Brooklyn base. She is a trustee and board member of the non-for-profit organization Jana Rakshita, providing free or low cost health care for pediatric cancer patients. Working hands on since she was fifteen years old, and with over 3500 patients treated, Jana Rakshita has been a major and defining part of her life. Priya is also an avid Ultra-Marathoner and, at twenty-three, was the first Indian woman to complete the Himalayan 100 mile Ultra Marathon. Max ZT - MaxZT, lauded as the "Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer" by NPR, and a "Force of nature" by NY Music Daily, is an innovator of the instrument. Taking his roots from classical Irish folk music, Max has transplanted his compositional techniques to both Senegal, where he studied the Mandinko technique with the Cissoko griot family, and to Mumbai, India where he received a grant to study under the great santoor master Pandit Shivkumar Sharma. His fresh perspective and bold experimentalism have been the backbone to beautiful, complex and genuine compositions, while his unorthodox playing style has been a pioneering force in revolutionizing dulcimer techniques. Max has envlivened the conceptual framework of traditional folk music by fusing multi-cultural roots and traditions to create a truly compelling sound. Max ZT has shared the stage with some of the most influential international and national leaders of the century including Pt. Ravi Shankar, Jon Bon Jovi, Karsh Kale, Bela Fleck, Victor Wooten, Tinariwen, Jimmy Cliff, and more. With the eighth record released, he is, as Timeout NY states "A sight to behold." Philip Hamilton - Philip Hamilton is one of the most captivating voices in music today. The New York Times calls this inventive vocalist/composer “contemporary and cutting-edge” for his explosive recordings and performances. Hamilton has a voice that displays a combination of majesty, power and intimacy like Nina Simone and Bob Marley. His music is a funky layered blend of rock, jazz and blues with global grooves and sensibilities that is reminiscent of Massive Attack, Sting and Stevie Wonder. Hamilton has brought his distinctive sound to many of the world’s leading concert halls and music festivals, including New York’s Lincoln Center, Indonesia’s Java Jazz festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Joy of Jazz Festival in Johannesburg, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Kaunas Jazz in Lithuania and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. He has performed and recorded with many notable artists from various genres including Jazz (Mike Stern, the Pat Metheny Group, Ronny Jordan), World Music (Gilberto Gil, Ivan Lins, Sara Tavares), Rock (Donald Fagan/Steely Dan, Vernon Reid), Dance (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ballet Hispanico) Classical (John Cage, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Tobias String Quartet) and the Jam Band scene (John Medeski, Billy Martin, Medeski, Martin & Wood). Dave Eggar 
Four-time Grammy nominated artist Dave Eggar has performed throughout the world including solo appearances in Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, Barbican Center and the Hollywood Bowl. Dave continues to tour and record with artists such as Foreigner (as the Dave Eggar Orchestra) Phillip Phillips, Frank Ocean, Amy Lee (Evanescence) and Taylor Swift. He has also composed and arranged award-winning movie soundtracks including Beasts of the Southern Wild, Anonymous, Without and Walk To Beautiful. Throughout his career, Dave has performed and recorded with artists such as, Josh Groban, The Who, Paul Simon, Andrea Bocelli, Bon Jovi, Tony Bennet, Coldplay, Ornette Coleman, Breaking Benjamin, Patti Smith and Michael Brecker. He is a graduate of Harvard University and holds a Doctorate from the Juilliard School. Dave is a mentor master teacher for Lincoln Center Meet the Artist, National Young Arts and Virginia Pro-art. He has also worked extensively on the use of music in conflict resolution in areas such as Mindanao, Philippines and Indonesia. @cellogram

Paloma Dineli Chesky - Paloma an 11-year old American-Brazilian composer and singer, believes that music can change the world by bringing joy and hope, even in times of desperation. At five, she began studying the piano at the Kaufman Music Center and has always been passionate about composition, improvisation and songwriting. At 9 she was invited to join the select team of Very Young Composers of the New York Philharmonic. Paloma debuted at Lincoln Center in 2018 as part of the Musical Postcards benefit concert, where she performed her composition "Peace in All Worlds" with the New York Philharmonic at David Geffen Hall. She has also performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club. Paloma just sang with the New York Philharmonic for the World Premiere of Rising, her new composition for full orchestra and voice conducted by Jaap van Zweden at the first Phil the Hall event at Lincoln Center.  Paloma attends the Professional Performing Arts middle school in New York City.

ABOUT DINA FANAI

Dina Fanai founded her company One Vision Music (OMV) in 2003 for the sole purpose of using music as a powerful force to create positive change in the world. Dina has performed throughout the world as a singer, songwriter, composer; and as a vocalist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra which she later became head of Artist Development for the band. She is the recipient of grants and awards from The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and National Endowment for the Arts, as well as leading educational programs in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. Her recording project CINEMA 12, was featured on Tina Turner’s platinum selling CD “Beyond”. Dina co-wrote and produced 2 CD's for Jackie Evancho, both which hit #1 on the Billboard charts. Most recently, Dina was brought on by the band Foreigner as choir master, arranger and featured vocalist for their 40th anniversary orchestral show, television special, DVD and CD which remained #1 on Billboard for over 4 months. ABOUT BOB KINKEL

Robert Kinkel is a music producer and professional session keyboardist best known for his role as a co-creator/co-producer/co-composer, musical director and touring keyboardist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He co-wrote TSO’s 2 hit multi-platinum selling songs “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)", and “Wizards in Winter” resulting in sales close to ten million. In the past 30 years, Bob has worked with artists such as Five for Fighting, The Who, Aerosmith and Genesis; as well as creating and being the voice on the infamous jingle for Hefty (“Hefty Wimpy”) He was educated at Columbia University & Hamilton College, and has received honors and awards from Williamsville Education Foundation and Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.
