*Discounts are offered to full-day registrants with friends or siblings!  Please call the studio for more information.

Visiting artist - Rod Haaland

Rod has been making pottery since the 70's. He is also a degreed ceramic engineer who leads a research team for a ceramic manufacturing plant in Morristown. Rod creates his own glazes, many from local materials. His focus is on wheel-thrown forms, sometimes altered and combined with a foundation in utilitarian ware.  Rod has begun working in collaboration with his daughter, Katy Greene, to create a new line of illustrated pottery called Greene Hill Pottery. Other collaborations are in the works with Telos Coffee Roasters (Johnson City's own specialty coffee roaster owned and operated by Cari and Jonathan Muse - Rod's other daughter and son-in-law) and with Muse Textiles (hand printed textiles created by Cari). Beyond these ventures, the brightest lights in Rod's world are his three grandkids who are all future creatives.

*Mixed Media Mania Art Camp is designed to allow campers to experiment with an array of artistic methods and mediums.  Each week of MMM is packed with fun right-brain activities and focuses on a different art medium. Layering techniques explored each week, students are encouraged to create their own mixed media masterpieces. Each week also features a professional guest artist who will share his or her art expertise!
