Week Three:  Drawing, Design, & Illustration

In this session, campers will learn the basics of drawing and illustration and how to design their own characters for a short storybook.

*All camps are recommended for ages 7-13 and are held from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily.

Visiting Artist/Author - Cheryl Livingston

 Cheryl Livingston began toddler life clutching a pink crayon in her chubby little fist. Many coloring books later, she now draws, writes, and paints, as well as creating stained glass art with her husband. Cheryl is the author and illustrator of the children's book, "The Crayon Wrapper," which uses rhyming patterns in a rap music beat to describe the adventures of Green and his multi-hued pals. Her work is displayed at A Work of Art Gallery in Bristol, TN, where she is also a board member.

*Mixed Media Mania Art Camp is designed to allow campers to experiment with an array of artistic methods and mediums.  Each week of MMM is packed with fun right-brain activities and focuses on a different art medium. Layering techniques explored each week, students are encouraged to create their own mixed media masterpieces. Each week also features a professional guest artist who will share his or her art expertise!
