Non-Violent Crisis Prevention & Intervention
(CPI) Training

Legislation was passed regarding Seclusion and Restraint, which took effect on September 1, 2012. This legislation requires all schools to have at least one staff member trained in appropriate seclusion and restraint techniques.

This training will provide participants with violence prevention and crisis intervention techniques developed by the Crisis Prevention Institute.

These include:

  -Identifying escalating behavior
  -Responding to escalating behavior
-Diffusing hostile behavior and preventing violence
  -Dealing with your anxiety
  -Personal safety to avoid injury
  -Appropriate and safe physical intervention
-Dealing with the aftermath of a crisis
  -Proper documentation

Each participant will receive a manual and a certificate upon passing a written exam and successful completion of all phases of instruction. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Lunch is provided.
