Who Should Attend: Psychiatrist (MD), Psychiatric Nurse (RN), Psychologist (Ph.D), Social Worker (MSW), Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Therapist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), and other mental health professionals.
During this training, you will learn why the state of Illinois developed the Screening, Assessment and Support Services (SASS) program. This program has been designed to assist children and adolescents who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This training will educate on the program, the goals of the program and how the program is run in McHenry County.
Training Objectives:
Carlene Cardosi is the Regional Administrator at Rosecrance and has been with Rosecrance since 2008. She has worked at both the adolescent and adult residential substance abuse treatment centers in Rockford. Carlene started as an intern working with adolescent girls at the Griffin Williamson Campus, and she has worked her way up through various positions across the organization. After her internship, she worked as a primary counselor with the girls and then as a unit coordinator with the boys. She earned the opportunity to supervise the women’s programming at the Harrison Campus for adults. In 2015 she was promoted to Assistant Administrator at the Harrison Campus, where she took on a leadership role mentoring coordinators and other staff. Carlene earned the position of Clinical Director and was in integral part of opening the residential units at Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus’s mental health units. In September of 2019, Carlene was promoted to Regional Administrator of Rosecrance.
Presenter: Shira Greenfield, LCPC
Shira Greenfield is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Shira received her Master’s degree in counselor education from the University of Iowa in 1985. Since then she has worked as a therapist, a crisis intervention worker, a diagnostician, a clinical manager and an educator. She is currently a Manager for Northwestern Medicine’s Woodstock Hospital Behavioral Health Services.
