Many people see Illinois as miles and miles of corn and soybean fields. Over time, glaciers, flowing rivers, raging floods, expansive prairies, and humans have all made their mark on the land. Explore our state’s natural and human history at the Emiquon Preserve and Dickson Mounds Museum in a fun day of hands-on science.
On this free trip, students entering grades 7-9 will travel to Dickson Mounds Museum and Emiquon Preserve for a day filled with authentic science opportunities. Participants will
Check-in will begin at 7:30 am at the Illinois State Museum--Springfield. The bus will depart promptly at 8:00 am and will return to the State Museum at 5:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
