Celebrate a full year of Climate Smart San José and the close of another Earth month at the second-annual San José Earth Ride. The 8-mile fun and family-friendly bike ride, co-sponsored by San Jose Bike Party and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, will visit sites showcasing what the City and residents are doing to create a low-carbon, Climate Smart city.

Saturday, May 4 at San José City Hall

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

9 -11 AM: Check in, environmental resources, and free basic bike inspections and maintenance by Community Cycles of California. 

11 AM - 1:30 PM: Wheels hit the road! View the route here

Route stops:

Start: San José City Hall - 11am
Stop 1: Green Stormwater Infrastructure: Park Ave. and Race St. (estimated arrival time 11:20am)
Stop 2: Hoover Middle School: 1635 Park Ave. (estimated arrival time: 11:40am) Stop 3: Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum: 1660 Park Ave. (Estimated arrival time 11:55am) Stop 4: Guadalupe River Park Conservancy: 438 Coleman Ave. (Estimated arrival time: 12:25pm)
Stop 5: Better Bikeways Network: CIty Hall (Estimated arrival time: 1:15 pm)
Ride ends: San José City Hall: 1:30pm 

Please note: 

  • Bikes will not be provided for the ride; there is a bike share station located at City Hall. 
  • Registration, signed liability waiver, and a helmet are required for participation.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle, a snack or two, and a smile! We'll ride at a comfortable pace, and most stops will have restrooms and water fountains/refill stations.
  • Let's Keep City Hall Clean! No bicycle tricks that can leave skid marks.
