Your Trainers:

Charly Walters, Wise Program Manager (Spokane, WA)
Charly came to Wise with a passion for social equality, which she has developed with over a decade of experience in job coaching, job development, residential care, and volunteering with individuals with disabilities. Having grown up in a rural environment, Charly was immersed in an inclusive community where labels such as disability were not something that separated or divided people from one another, an experience which has led to her lifelong career. Before starting with Wise, Charly spent 6 years working in employment for both King and Spokane Counties. She also provided embedded employment training and consulting to high school students learning to manage dual diagnoses. In her current role at Wise, Charly is working with Spokane County and Spokane businesses on the HireAbility Spokane initiative, which focuses on business to business events and marketing. She is also a co-trainer for the WELN Job Development course and is learning to assist Eastern & Central Washington counties with technical assistance. Charly is excited about and dedicated to the idea of promoting social equality through education, opportunity, and employment. When Charly is not working, you can find her spending time in the beautiful eastern Washington outdoors; hiking, skiing, camping or on the lake.

Debra McLean, Wise Senior Program Manager (Portland, OR)
Debra is passionate about seeing all people obtain employment. She has been intrigued with community building and person centered planning as a way to see individuals with disabilities succeed in jobs that fit them since 1988. She has worked on a number of projects involving people with disabilities and employment. Debra provides training and consultation on employment and person centered planning in Washington and Oregon, and she has taught classes on these topics at Portland State University in the Teacher Education Program and for Highline Community College.
