Cataloging with the Library Reference Model -Webinar (04/25/19)

binary-beams-abstract.jpg

Have you wondered where we are going with cataloging? What about progress towards aligning ourselves with our peer communities in the semantic web? What about new terminology that is popping up in the RDA Toolkit? In this session, we'll explore changes impacting RDA, as we evolve our Frameworks to better address the needs of cataloging AND simplify our path. The Library Reference Model collapses the 3 RDA Frameworks (FRBR, FRAD, FRSAD) into one model. We'll explore what that means for cataloging and the RDA Toolkit.

Resources and a quiz for post-class work will be provided.

Audience: Catalogers, Technical Services, Systems, as well as any library staff interested in bibliographic data

Virtual Trainer: Robin Fay

Robin Fay is a Metadata and Technology Librarian with over 15 years of experience. She has worked with ARL libraries, the Library of Congress, the Digital Public Library of America, among others.

This is an online class. Access information will be emailed one week ahead.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff. Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
