Featured Speakers

 Van Mueller, LUTCF, is a Registered Representative with Mass Mutual.  January 23, 2019, marked Van’s 46th year as an insurance agent.  He is an active member of MDRT having qualified for Court of the Table in 1990 and Top of the Table for the last twenty-eight years. 

Van has served as an LUTC moderator and as President of NAIFA Milwaukee for the 1998-99 year.  He was Membership Chairman for both Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin.  Van also sat on the Annuity Advisory Panel, the Middle-Income Task Force, the Sales Idea Committee, and the Program Development Committee for MDRT. 

Van supports many industry organizations.  In addition to membership in NAIFA and MDRT, he is also a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, an Emissary Contributor to IFAPAC and a Diamond Knight of the MDRT Foundation.

Van has spoken to groups around the world, including being a main-platform speaker at MDRT in 1998 in Chicago and the Main Platform Speaker at the 2001 Top of the Table Meeting in Maui, Hawaii.  Van was a Main Platform Speaker at numerous NAIFA and MDRT Conventions, including the MDRT Experience in Tokyo, Japan in April of 2008.  He has also written many articles for various publications, including the “Close” for Retirement Advisor magazine. Van also has a monthly newsletter available to subscribers at www.vanmueller.com.


Suzanne Carawan  joined NAIFA National in 2018 to help lead their digital transformation initiative and growth strategy. Prior to NAIFA, Suzanne held several Chief Marketing Officer positions at digital agencies and software companies serving a variety of markets.

A product marketer by training, Suzanne’s specialties are start-ups and turn-around projects where companies are looking for new top line growth. Working with the NAIFA membership has been the most rewarding project of Suzanne’s career, to date, where she can use her experience to do good work for our great association. When not marketing, Suzanne spends her time on the lacrosse and football fields where she cheers on her two sons with her husband, John.
