Topic: Penetration Testing Your Way to Being a Better Auditor

Have you ever read a penetration testing report and wondered where to begin? The world of penetration testing can often be confusing, as there is no universal definition of what a penetration test is, what tests/methods it should include or who is even qualified to perform a penetration test. Join the Schneider Downs Cybersecurity Team as we talk about our experiences performing penetration tests of different sizes and scope, the lessons we have learned and how we have utilized our penetration testing methods to help our IT audit team increase the effectiveness of their cyber-audit approach.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn what a penetration test is, and what it isn’t;
  • Understand the different types of penetration tests and how proper scoping can make all the difference;
  • Learn what to look for when reviewing a penetration testing report during audit procedures;
  • Learn about different penetration testing toolsets and how penetration testing techniques can enhance your cyber-auditing approach.
