Walk the Cynwyd Heritage Trail
Join FitC member Bob Schmidt for an afternoon on the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, a former railroad line turned into a marvelous outdoor recreational opportunity.
True to its name, the Cynwyd Heritage Trail offers interpretive signage about the area's industrial history and major landmarks. Along the way, you'll see remnants of its railroad past, such as the ruins of Barmouth Station.
The paved trail extends about 2.2 miles but it's mostly downhill or flat, leading to the Cynwyd line bridge over the Schuylkill into Manayunk.
Meet us at Suburban Station in time to catch the 12:26pm Septa Cynwyd train (#1071) which arrives at Cynwyd station at 12:47.
Return to Center City can either be via SEPTA 61 bus which stops along Main St. or on the SEPTA Manayunk-Norristown line back to Suburban Station. We'll point you in the right direction
Bob will be eating at Winnie's LeBus along Main Street and you're free to join him. There are many other restaurant choices in Manayunk.
