With losses in the tens of billions since the CA fires, carriers have tightened up their underwriting guidelines and CA homeowners are starting to feel the effects of the recent changes.  Whether you are a current homeowner or in the market to purchase a home; it's more difficult than ever to get the coverage you need.  We will review the factors your broker and underwriter look at before determining the eligibility of a property prior to quoting. Kyle Cliff is Vice President of HUB International Personal Insurance Division in San Francisco.  HUB Personal Insurance provides comprehensive insurance products and services to help meet the unique risk management needs of successful individuals and families. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to: Homeowners, Automobile, Valuable Collections, Watercraft, and various types of Liability.
 
Based in San Francisco, Kyle works with individuals and families across the United States and around the world whose complex needs demand significant client service resources.  Kyle's team of professional advisors offer unparalleled service and sophisticated coverage solutions as they manage their client’s personal insurance programs.  Although Kyle specializes in Personal Insurance only, he has a network of colleagues to address any client need.

Michelle Ortiz Day is a Business Development Manager for Chubb Personal Risk Services.  Michelle is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with centers of influence at a regional level, defined as individuals or firms that are trusted advisors to affluent, high net worth, and ultra-high net worth families. In this role, Michelle focuses on strategic development, marketing and communications strategy, brand building, alignment of regional marketing staff, regional event sponsorship execution, and engagement with agents and brokers throughout Northern California. She is a frequent speaker, lecturer, and panelist on a wide variety of topics in Personal Insurance and Risk Management –including Personal & Excess Liability, HighValue Homes, Valuable Collections, Luxury and Classic Automobiles, Nonprofit Directors & Officers Liability, and Employment Practices Liability.

Michelle has been with Chubb for 6 years. She began her insurance career in the middle market space as a Service/Sales Representative for both Geico and The Hartford. She received the opportunity to join AIG ,where she spent 10 years, primarily in underwriting. She joined CHUBB, where she was quickly promoted to Business Development Manager, focusing on helping independent insurance agents throughout Northern California craft insurance and risk management programs for successful individuals and families.
 
James Pozzi, CFA
AVP, Regional Underwriting Manager
PURE Insurance
After earning degrees in Economics and Mathematics at Fairfield University, James Pozzi started his career with PURE Insurance as a business analyst in 2012. Over the course of seven years he has worked in various roles within PURE including underwriting, data and analytics, finance, and strategy. He reported directly to PURE’s CEO, Ross Buchmeuller, for several years and recently relocated to the Bay Area to lead the California underwriting practice in PURE’s San Francisco office. He takes a quantitative approach to risk management and underwriting with a keen focus on the peril of wildfire.
