Lucy Calkins Units of Study Network: Reading and Writing 

The CESA #1 Lucy Calkins Units of Study Network is a professional learning community with a mission to discuss, collaborate, and support one another as we deepen our understanding of high impact instructional practices, and deliver relevant staff development for our teachers.

The goal is to reflect, stretch and respond to the demands of the Units of Study and continue to grow professionally to be responsive to the needs of  students.

  • Network with other educators using the Units of Study
  • Explore and reflect on current high impact literacy instruction within the units
  • Collegial conversation will foster a synthesis of new understanding
  • Participants will enjoy a choice of professional readings throughout the course of the network to expand knowledge around best practices, upcoming literacy trends and pedagogy

A book study will be included with this network; participants have the option to choose between two text (one text per paid seat will be provided by CESA #1). Click on titles below for more information on each book:

Audience: K-8 Classroom Teachers with 3+ years experience using the Lucy Calkins Units of Study in Reading and/or Writing
