This session will share a variety of ways to make the best use of the limited time teachers have with students during small guided math lessons. Teachers will explore instructional best practices that move beyond re-teaching to identifying and addressing misconceptions through the use of concrete and semi-concrete experiences and extended opportunities for problem solving. Participants will also apply this learning to the planning of standards-based math workstations that provide differentiated opportunities for practice and review.
