Virtual Reality Workshop - Orange Park (08/16/19)

Come experience the latest in Virtual Reality (VR) Technology!

Join us for an interactive day of learning all about this technology and how it can revolutionize education and training in your library.

High-quality VR is incredible to experience.  New virtual reality content creates a feeling of presence and immersion that is unlike any other form of media.  It is 3-D, 360-degree, motion-sensing, with positional audio and controllers that you can see in the virtual space.  The world you interact with, along with everything you can see and hear, is entirely defined by the imagination of the content creators.

We will discuss and use all the latest VR content, including Google Expeditions, which allows an instructor to lead a virtual field trip with a number of users through their networked VR headsets.  There are many educational and learning components to the VR content now available.  It's not all about the latest craze, Beat Saber, or shooting zombies (though you can do both!).

Trainer: Mickey R. Boyd

Mickey Boyd has been a technology trainer in Florida for many years.  Library staff know him for his workshops on emerging technologies, information security, and managing public access to the Internet.

Cost: NEFLIN classes are free of charge for Florida library staff.  Registration is required for all classes and NEFLIN members get priority.
