6-26-19 Addressing Poverty:  Strategies to Close the Achievement Gap- No Fee for Member Districts, $35 Fee for Non Member Districts

 

Speaker: Christina Krantz and Laura Smith

Target Audience: Special Education Teachers, General Education Teachers working with students with IEPs, Instructional Coaches, Administrators, ELL teachers

22. Provide positive and constructive feedback to guide students learning and behavior.

Description: 

This session will review characteristics of students living in poverty, implications for our classrooms, and learner difficulties including social and academic barriers.  Participants will explore case studies and leave with research-based strategies that can be easily implemented to support students with resources, learning behaviors, and social competency to improve student achievement.

GUESTS/UNREGISTERED POLICY

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
