2019 Annual Garden Party 

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley

Online ticket sales have now ended. You can still purchase tickets at the door, beginning at 2 pm at the Mashomack Preserve.

Join us as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Community Foundations. This momentous occasion will commemorate our path from Founders to the Future. Proceeds from this signature event help support our Community Grants program, which has granted more than $1.3 million to nonprofits in our region.

As we honor the past and look to the future - this year's guest speakers will share their visions for philanthropy and community building. We are pleased to welcome:
Jessica O. Matthews, Founder and CEO of Uncharted Power

Jessica O. Matthews, a Poughkeepsie native and dual-citizen of the United States and Nigeria. She is the Founder and CEO of Uncharted Power, an award-winning, full-service power and data infrastructure company. Developing technologies in energy generation, transmission and storage, Uncharted Power has also mastered harnessing kinetic energy, enabling it to engineer consumer products for Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. and various international governments. Jessica has a degree in Psychology and Economics from Harvard University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and is listed on over 10 patents and patents pending-including her first invention of the SOCCKET, an energy-generating soccer ball. Her list of accolades include Fortune's Most Promising Women Entrepreneurs, Forbes 30 under 30 list, Inc Magazine 30 under 30, and Harvard University Scientist of the Year.

 

Matthew Stinchcomb, a resident of Rhinebeck where he and his wife are raising their three children. Matthew is the Founder and Board Chair of the Good Work Institute, which offers Hudson Valley non-profits, activists, and other agents of change tools, trainings, and connections to deepen and expand their good work. Before founding and heading up the Good Work Institute, Matt was the longest-serving employee and the VP of Values and Impact at Etsy. In addition to chairing the board at GWI, Matt also serves on the Board of Directors for the Schumacher Center for New Economics (Chair) and the Hawthorne Valley Association. He was named a GOOD Magazine 'Figure of Progress,' and one of the Purpose Economy 100.
