Work Study Position Information 

Work study positions are available to those who qualify. In order to apply for a work study position, you'll need to complete your FAFSA. If you've completed your FAFSA, look over the positions and their descriptions below. Take note of those that interest you and complete the work study application by selecting the apply button at the bottom of the page. You'll have to ability to select your top four preferences on the application.

Position Descriptions

 

Equine Management Fair Grounds - Office Assistant: Computer skills, some typing and filing. Must have transportation. Prefer equine management or equine science major.

Equine Management Fair Grounds - Stable Hand: Maintenance of horse corrals, cleaning and maintenance of barn area. Able to groom horses and move hay. Prefer equine management or equine science major. Qualifications: must be able to physically operate a skid steer.

Agriculture - Rodeo Stock Feeding: Feeding, watering and care of practice stock. Set-up, teardown and general maintenance of livestock facility. Hauling of feed, grain and equipment. Qualifications: mush have own vehicle, cell phone, and enrolled in rodeo techniques.

Campus Safety and Security - Office Assistant: Track, cross reference and compile travel information from two different sources to create a list of all student team and club travel information, sourced from spreadsheets and travel forms. Some filing as well. Qualifications required for position: Good references, attention to detail, and basic to advance computer skills. Experience with Excel would be a plus.

Event Center Athletics - Women's Volleyball Assistant Manager: This position will be responsible for attending all practices to run clock and take stats. Game time also includes taking stats and set-up to include water, towels, uniform check-in and check-out.

Event Center Athletics - Women's Soccer Assistant Manager: This position will be responsible for attending all practices to run clock and take stats. Game time also includes taking stats and set-up to include water, towels, uniform check-in and check-out.

Event Center Athletics - Men's Soccer Assistant Manager: This position will be responsible for attending all practices to run clock and take stats. Game time also includes taking stats and set-up to include water, towels, uniform check-in and check-out.

Event Center - Sports Medicine Aid: Aid sports medicine staff with set-up for and coverage of athletic practices and games. Setting up water jugs and distributing water during practice and games. Provide basic first aid, taping and administrative work. Prefer athletic training or sports medicine major.

Admissions Office - Office Assistant: Basic office duties, answering phones, greet and assist customers at the counter, assist with bulk mailing projects, filling, computer data entry and other duties as assigned. Ability to alphabetize, organize and knowledge of proper phone etiquette.

Bookstore - Store Assistant: A bookstore work study will utilize clerical skills, maintain inventory, operate the register, empty trash, vacuum, dust, assist with book returns, stock shelves, assist with sales at home games and provide good customer service.

Pete's Retreat - Retail Food Service: Sweep, mop, stock, wipe down tables, prepare food, take out trash nightly, dress in uniform, be prompt, and assist customers in a quick, accurate and friendly manner. Good customer service skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions a must.

Biology Department - BIO 201 & BIO 202 Lab Exam Tutor: Set-up/monitor evening lab exam study sessions. Assist instructor in procuring appropriate specimens for the lab exams. Requirements: earned an 85% of better in BIO 201 & BIO 202, able to work Monday and Tuesday evenings, have good people skills, and help students prepare for exams.

Biology/Chemistry Department - Lab Assistant: Job includes lab preparation for biology and chemistry courses, making copies, grading papers, and running errands for science instructors. Lab clean-up and maintenance is also performed. Good work ethic and interest in lab work is preferred.

Physical Plant - Custodial Assistant: This position consists of sweeping hallways/classrooms, cleaning out trash containers and replacing trash liners, cleaning whiteboards in classrooms, spot clean fingerprints on glass doors/windows and walls, and vacuuming carpets and entrance mats.

Physical Plant - Grounds Maintenance: Knowledge of operating power equipment, tractors, mowers and other grounds equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., follow written and verbal instruction, and work in hot or cold weather conditions.

Document Center - Office Assistant: Help log-in all freight that arrives from UPS, post office, and FedEx. Notify students via email that they have packages to pick up. Help with delivery of copy jobs. Learn to run copy jobs on the Xerox equipment. Fold and stuff documents and envelopes.

Information Technology - Intern: Detail oriented, motivated and have strong work ethic. Familiar with current Windows Operating Systems. Training will occur in the installation and troubleshooting of hardware. Must be able to lift 5-50 lbs., bend, and climb.

The Exchange - Office Assistant: This position is responsible for monitoring The Exchange by taking/making appointments. Must have basic knowledge of cameras and computers.

Marketing Services - Marketing Assistant: Assist with day-to-day activities of the college's public information and marketing office. This includes the development of print materials (flyers, brochures, posters, newspaper ads, etc.) and writing of short news items on various classes, activities, etc.
