Health Careers Academy 2019 

Deming Health Careers Academy is a summer camp for students who have an interest in the medical field. Students earn dual credit through Deming Public Schools and Western New Mexico University. Students have the opportunity to take tours of local medical facilities, volunteer, and even job shadow with local medical professionals.

Incoming Freshman selected for the program will begin on Monday, June 17th, 2019.  Class will run Monday-Friday from 8-4 PM.  The program will end on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019.  Freshamn will take an Intro. to Social Work WNMU dual credit course and have tours of local medical facilities. 

Incoming Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will begin on Monday, July 8th, 2019.  Class will run Monday-Friday from 8-4 PM.  The program will end on Friday, August 2nd, 2019.  Sophomores will take a Biology 101 course with a Lab and have volunteer experience with local organizations.  (Volunteer experience is very important on applications to medical schools).  Juniors/Seniors will take a Chemistry for Life dual credit class with a Lab and have job shadowing experiences with local medical professionals.
