About the OCFP Collaborative Mentoring Networks:
The Collaborative Mentoring Networks (CMN) support family physicians by building confidence, competence and knowledge in various practice and clinical areas, with the goal of ensuring high-quality care to patients in your practice. 

  • Collaborative Mental Health Network (CMHN)
    The OCFP's Collaborative Mental Health Network (CMHN) links family physicians with GP Psychotherapist and Psychiatrist Mentors with a focus on enhancing the capacity of family physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients with complex conditions involving mental illness.
  •  Medical Mentoring for Addiction and Pain (MMAP)
    The OCFP's Medical Mentoring for Addictions and Pain (MMAP) Network links family physicians with Physician Mentors with expertise in pain management and addictions, including methadone prescribers, with a focus on enhancing the capacity of family physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients with chronic pain and/or addiction(s).

Navigating Mental Health, Pain and Addiction

An OCFP learning event developed by Champlain LHIN clinicians, for Champlain LHIN clinicians!

Are you interested in group discussions and meaningful mentoring in the areas of mental health, pain and addictions? Do you value learning from clinical experts in a safe, collegial environment?

From cannabis for pain and mental health, to prescribing buprenorphine, and other related topics, join us for an engaging day of learning with local colleagues to explore these complex topics and get mental health and chronic pain resources available in the Champlain LHIN region. 

This one-credit-per hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 6.75 Mainpro+ credits.

Who can attend? This event is open to:
  • mental health providers;
  • family physicians;
  • psychiatrists;
  • nurse practitioners;
  • social workers; and
  • interdisciplinary clinicians specializing in mental health, substance and opioid abuse.

When: Friday June 21, 2019 | 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre, 1 International Drive, Pembroke, Ontario   

Fee: There is no cost to attend this event
