Please join us on Wednesday, June 12th at the Triad Theater, for the Power of Music Concert Series - presented by Daniel's Music Foundation and One Vision Music. Enjoy moving performances by Dina Fanai and Bob Kinkel, as well as the Co-Founder of Daniel's Music Foundation, Daniel Trush with Artistic Director, Gerard Powers plus other special guests, as they share their own personal experiences of the transformative power of music. All proceeds benefit Daniel's Music Foundation programs. We look forward to seeing you there!

Poet Ali - It is the light, Poet Ali emits and the reflects, which best guides the course of his profound impact on the hearts of his audience. He has shared the stage with artists such as One Republic, Christina Milian, Colbie Caillat, Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean, Lil Bow Wo, and Akon. He speaks to over 50,000 people a year and has helped shape the country of Bermuda’s “Chain Reaction” program, addressing issues of teen violence, bullying, safety in schools, and teen suicide. He has been the keynote speaker for conferences such as: The HOBY World Leadership Conference, the ICONIC32 Pop-Culture Summit, and was honored as the only male speaker to ever lecture at the Iranian-American Women Foundation International Summit. Poet’s work received standing ovations for his TED TALK appearances and has been engaged in social justice and youth intervention for the past 7 years. Chuck Palmer ft. Anonymous ElderChuck Palmer is a percussionist, song writer and producer who has performed and recorded with artists including Frank Ocean, Foreigner, RJD2, Five For Fighting, AmyLee of Evanescence, Norah Jones, Dave Eggar, and Mykal Rose of Black Uhuru. Anonymous Elder fuses the sounds of our everyday life with the inspired intrinsic rhythms that exist within. Chuck has worked extensively in collaboration and support of both For Jamaica, Inc., a charity that provides beds and bedding to orphans throughout Jamaica; as well as The Way Of The Rain, Inc., a multi disciplinary performance organization led by Sibylle Szaggars Redford and Robert Redford, designed to promote public awareness and support for the protection of our Earth. As an artist/educator Chuck has served as a teaching fellow at Lincoln Center's Meet the Artist, a composer in residence for National Young Arts, a resident artist/educator for Quad City Arts and Pro-Art Virginia and an artistic ambassador in Mindanao, Philippines. http://chuckpalmermusic.com/  @chuckpalmer

 Priya Darshini - Priya Darshiniis a New York-based musician, actress, athlete and activist who has attracted international attention for her unique and multi-faceted career. Priya has shared the stage and collaborated with some of the most influential music leaders of the century, including Pearl Jam, six-time Grammy award-winners Victor Wooten (bass) and Roy “Futureman” Wooten (drummer and composer), Karsh Kale among many others. Based in Brooklyn, Priya has sung for over a hundred television and radio commercials as well as recorded for several award-winning and chart-topping movie soundtracks, including in the Hollywood movie, “The Letters”. The Indian Express calls her music “soul-stirring,” The Asian Age calls her a "true cultural ambassador". Taking her roots from Indian Classical music, Priya’s vast knowledge of a variety of music from all over the world has resulted in a fresh, imaginative and fascinating new sound. She displays an enviable combination of range, technique, unconventional compositions and a prodigious voice that truly sets her apart from other vocalists and has the ability to both intrigue and captivate any audience. Her strong tie to India has continued, despite her Brooklyn base. She is a trustee and board member of the non-for-profit organization Jana Rakshita, providing free or low cost health care for pediatric cancer patients. Working hands on since she was fifteen years old, and with over 3500 patients treated, Jana Rakshita has been a major and defining part of her life. Priya is also an avid Ultra-Marathoner and, at twenty-three, was the first Indian woman to complete the Himalayan 100 mile Ultra Marathon. ABOUT DINA FANAI

Dina Fanai founded her company One Vision Music (OMV) in 2003 for the sole purpose of using music as a powerful force to create positive change in the world. Dina has performed throughout the world as a singer, songwriter, composer; and as a vocalist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra which she later became head of Artist Development for the band. She is the recipient of grants and awards from The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and National Endowment for the Arts, as well as leading educational programs in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia. Her recording project CINEMA 12, was featured on Tina Turner’s platinum selling CD “Beyond”. Dina co-wrote and produced 2 CD's for Jackie Evancho, both which hit #1 on the Billboard charts. Most recently, Dina was brought on by the band Foreigner as choir master, arranger and featured vocalist for their 40th anniversary orchestral show, television special, DVD and CD which remained #1 on Billboard for over 4 months. Through OVM she continues to produce concerts and recordings supporting a wide variety of causes including LGBT, people with disabilities, woman’s empowerment, homeless children, climate change and animal rights. Dina has just completed her latest recording project “FEARLESS” to be released Spring 2019.www.dinafanai.com @dfanaI

ABOUT BOB KINKEL

Robert Kinkel is a music producer and professional session keyboardist best known for his role as a co-creator/co-producer/co-composer, musical director and touring keyboardist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He co-wrote TSO’s 2 hit multi-platinum selling songs “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)", and “Wizards in Winter” resulting in sales close to ten million. In the past 30 years, Bob has worked with artists such as Five for Fighting, The Who, Aerosmith and Genesis; as well as creating and being the voice on the infamous jingle for Hefty (“Hefty Wimpy”) He was educated at Columbia University & Hamilton College, and has received honors and awards from Williamsville Education Foundation and Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music. Today, inside the four walls of their 8,700-square foot, custom-built music center in East Harlem, the Trush Family, along with the management team and staff, serve thousands of participants annually through a variety of music programs - an accomplishment that has proven to be the introduction to something even greater – an attitudinal shift addressing the misnomer of placing limitations on individuals with disabilities.
