Useful course reading material :

The Fabric of Autism, Weaving the Threads into a Cogent Theory       by Judith Bluestone, Founder of HANDLE

NOT just about autism!!

"It's with baffled enthusiasm that I am finally reading The Fabric of Autism. Nancy, I know you had suggested it during the Level 1 course.  I regret not picking it up 11 months ago.

Every page describes my daughter and why she has acted the way she does... From behaviours in utero to now, I'm positively overwhelmed... And HOPEFUL.

Why did I not read it sooner?  Perhaps because I was told by "experts" she does NOT have autism and the title isn't ‘The Fabric of Idiosyncratic Behaviours’.  Haha.  Yet, I habitually describe her to others as having ASD shadow syndromes because people recognise or "accept" autism more than SPD, microcephaly, DCD, expressive language disorder, etc. etc. that Elle has as her cocktail of diagnoses.  I know the labels are irrelevant in many ways, but people use them in the attempt to understand.

The future is brighter. For me.  For my daughter.  And for two specific clients of mine that I told about HANDLE months ago. I bumped into one this week who said "I need to talk to you about HANDLE more"... She doesn't even know that I'm taking the next level of courses."

HANDLE Level 2, Basics, a different approach to learning and function

Move now from Level 1 to the Basics of HANDLE, finding new answers, deeper understanding and how you can make a difference.  Join us to learn how HANDLE looks for and addresses the root causes of a problem while recognizing that people show us what they need. Forever change your view of behavior.

Valuable for individuals, families and providers.

HANDLE is an intervention that works with all ages and most issues of behavior, social, emotional and physical function.  It works with the knowledge of normal neurodevelopment and neuroplasticity to help the body and brain work together more efficiently.  In the process individuals come to have an intimate understanding of why some things are difficult.  This leads to more patience, acceptance and tolerance while the brain develops new neural pathways and daily function improves.  Read more at
