Healing Touch - Level 1 Course

This two-day Level 1 course, instructed by Myra Tovey, RN, BS, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, teaches participants how to utilize energy concepts and healing touch energy therapy techniques from a holistic approach for integration into self care, or care with family, friends, clients and patients.

Attendees: This class is open to registered nurses, health care professionals, body-oriented therapists, psychotherapists , licensed health care professionals and those who desire to study energy therapy with a commitment to helping others.

• Attendance at the entire class with supervision
• Practice with instructor feedback

What is Healing Touch? A relaxing, nurturing energy therapy that:

• uses gentle, heart-centered touch to assist in balancing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being
• enhances the body’s natural ability to heal through the human energy centers and energy field/biofield
• works in harmony with standard medical care and is complementary to other health care systems
• is safe for all ages

• Energy system concepts related to health
• Basic energy principles and assessment of the energy system – energy field and energy centers and
functions

• Legal and professional aspects of touch therapies, Ethical Conduct and Standards of practice, and integrity in Healing Touch.

• In-depth solid core curriculum of 5 class levels from beginner to advanced healer including Evolution of the Healer, Holistic and Energetic Foundations, Evidence Based and Best Practice modules
• Enhances skills and knowledge through lecture, recommended readings and practice sessions
• Strong commitment to personal growth and knowledge of holistic health principles
• HTI Healing Touch Certificate Program Certificate of Completion upon satisfactory completion of all 5 levels
• Leads to eligibility to apply for Certified Healing Touch Practitioner through Healing Beyond Borders
• Instructor Training and Advancement available after certification. Prerequisites apply.
• Endorsed by American Holistic Nurses Assn.

FAQ:

Is this refundable? Once the purchase is made, it is not refundable but can be applied to a future class if you are unable to attend.

I am not a nurse, can I attend? Yes, and any individual who completes the 5 levels of training is eligible to apply for the optional/additional certification. 

Will Parkview pay for this class for me? Some managers have funds to send employees to continuing education courses. Contact our manager if you are interested. We currently do not have the ability to transfer funds at this time.

Course Instructor:

Myra Tovey, RN, BS, has a wide variety of experiences in health care including surgical nursing, office care and TB screening. During her 26 years in school nursing, Myra served as supervisor of the school nurses in Fort Wayne Community Schools. In 1986, she was honored as the Indiana School Nurse of the Year. In 1996, Myra retired from the Fort Wayne Community Schools and moved to Colorado to teach Healing Touch Levels 1-2, Instructors in Training Level 2, and to serve as consultant at Healing Beyond Border’s international headquarters.

Myra is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and Instructor as a well Certified Holistic Nurse with the American Holistic Nurses Association. She has served both on the Healing Beyond Borders and American Holistic Nurses Association Board of Directors. Myra also served as AHNA’s North Central Regional Director. In addition to teaching Healing Touch, Myra teaches classes in Dream Interpretation, the Tovey Technique, and Heart Centered Living. Myra has authored the Heart Centered Living workbook and instructor’s manual, Yes, I Will, an autobiographical book, and Meditations from the Heart, a relaxation CD. Most recently, Myra has moved home to Ft. Wayne to continue her teaching and private practice.
