September 23, 2019 Lecture   --   Dr. Shane Langley

Sponsored by 3M

Dr. Langley has practiced orthodontics full time in Daphne, Alabama since 2009. He has served various positions on the faculty of the orthodontic department at the University of Alabama where he earned his orthodontic certificate and Master's degree.

Treatment of Complex Orthodontic Cases Using Esthetic and Efficient Solutions
Dr. Langley will share how he differentiated his practice to a patient centric focus while providing outstanding treatment outcomes. This involves maintaining the orthodontic specialty through excellence in treatment and providing value added services that help raise the bar for his patients. With the shift to esthetic demands form our patients, orthodontists no longer need to sacrifice clinical success for esthetic treatment. Vertical control and intra-arch protraction and retraction cases using TAD's will be presented along with topics around Class II corrections and cuspid substitution.

Learn how to:

  • Understand why a patient centric practice is important and how you can differentiate yourself in a competitive market.
  • Treat complex cases using esthetic ceramic brackets.
  • Explore the biomechanics of vertical control of anterior open bites and intra-arch protraction of molars in bilateral and unilateral congenitally missing lower 5’s and full arch retraction for Class III correction utilizing TADs.
  • Identify the principles of Class II correction – unilateral and bilateral, single arch extraction of upper 4’s vs. 5’s and surgical planning and preparation.
  • Describe the principles, planning and execution of cuspid substitution.
