After a storm or other incident, it's critical that those who remain know what to do and how to organize themselves, just in case.

Learn more about the role of the Incident Commander in times of activation.

Attend this important Incident Commander Workshop and you'll:

  • better understand CERT operating guidelines for activation, deployment, hub radio network, gas shutoff and the spontaneous use of volunteers
  • be prepared to organize available CERT personnel for disaster response
  • be able to assess team safety measures and effectively size-up a scene
  • have current experience with radio operations
  • know the best way to interface with First Responders and how to best present the information they need
  • learn keys to decision making in an emergency

This workshop is free and open to all current Lakewood Ranch CERT members.  It is highly recommended for anyone interested in learning how to be an effective team Incident Commander.

Registration is required and seating is limited for this workshop.  Click below to reserve your seat.

RSVP above.

If you attended the IC Workshop in March 2019, there is no need to attend this session. The same materials will be covered.

Member events sponsored by Lakewood Ranch CERT are designed for our members who reside in Phase 1 of Lakewood Ranch. Non-Phase 1 residents who have completed FEMA's Basic training may be permitted to attend LWR CERT events on a space-available basis and must make arrangements prior to attending any event.
