Love Your Willamette:

PADDLE & PULL, Corvallis Reach

Tuesday, July 30th

WHAT: Paddle & Pull on the Willamette

WHEN: Thursday, July 30th from 9:30am - 3:30pm

WHERE: Corvallis Reach of the Willamette River (Crystal Lake to Michael's Landing)

DETAILS: The Willamette River supports diverse native plant and wildlife populations and provides clean water to Oregonians. Land managers, scientists, and concerned citizens are working together throughout the Willamette Basin to address the growing issue of aquatic invasives. Join staff from Willamette Riverkeeper, Benton SWCD, Oregon State Parks, and members of the Willamette Aquatic Invasive Network for this paddle-and-pull outing. Stay tuned for details on our put in and take out for this adventure.

Participants will learn to identify aquatic weeds and effectively hand pull priority aquatic weeds. Paddle your own boat, or reserve a space in a Willamette Riverkeeper canoe. Boats tend to get quite muddy with this work so you are welcome to use ours to keep your personal boat nice and clean. It's up to you. We will be providing a shuttle for all participants. Logistical details will be provided in an email a few days prior to the trip.

BRING: Pack two full water bottles, a warm layer, sun protection (glasses, hat and sunscreen), brown bag lunch, snacks, and closed-toe shoes. Water Weed Field Guides and bags for the weeds will be provided.
