We’re all responsible for clean water, and we all know water flows downstream… but do you ever wonder what happens to water once it leaves your house and heads to the river? Please join Willamette Riverkeeper and our Eugene-Springfield/Lane County Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission for a free walking tour of our local wastewater management facility. Learn how your wastewater is cleaned as we explore and discuss the various steps in the process from pretreatment to secondary treatment, including solids handling. We’ll view these operations covering about a mile in distance, starting at the wastewater intake to where the water is returned into the Willamette River.
