This course is the full 3-day TRAQ course for people who have not yet taken the TRAQ class and exam.

Expand your business! Become qualified as an ISA Tree Risk Assessment professional. This TRAQ class and exam is open to all interested parties who meet the qualifications and is limited to 40 arborists (first-come/first-served). The qualification consists of a 2-day educational course followed by a ½ day assessment that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the entire course and successfully complete the assessment in order to receive this qualification. The ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification is valid for five years from the date the TRAQ exam is passed. The qualification holder is required to take the course and pass the exam every five years in order to maintain the qualification.

In order to register at the Member Price you MUST be a member of ISA International or of Florida Chapter ISA.

All prerequisites for registering will be reviewed and your registration will be confirmed via email.

Registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Space is limited to 40 people.

Registration closes at midnight on August 9, 2019 (or when filled).
Check payments must be received by August 9, 2019 in order to remain on the class list.
Cancellation Policy: A processing fee of $50 USD will be charged for all cancellations received on or before August 9, 2019. Cancellations after August 9, 2019
will be charged the full amount of the registration fee.

What to do now?
  • Read the TRAQ application handbook. During the registration process you will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions in the handbook; if you do not agree with them you cannot take the course and exam.   • Complete your registration (first come, first served) Online registration link is below, or fax your form to 941-342-0463. Mailing in your registration will take longer and the class might fill before we receive it in the mail.

  • the TRAQ manual and workbook (will be shipped to the physical address you provide NO PO BOXES)
  • coffee and breakfast items for all 3 days, beverages, snacks and lunches for instructional days (Wednesday and Thursday).

Travel and lodging is on your own.

What is required to bring to the class:

  • your government issued photo ID
  • your TRAQ Manual
  • your TRAQ Workbook
  • your hard hat and high visiblity vest or shirt (required)
  • #2 pencils for taking the text, taking notes and completing worksheets
  • rain gear, including a large ziplock bag (just in case!)
  • come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors
  • please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors; we cannot always control the room temperature to suit everyone

Meet the Instructors:

  • Norm Easey
    Norm Easey is CEO of the Florida Chapter ISA and has a special interest in sharing his tree knowledge; he is a familiar face at the chapter seminars as moderator, speaker and administrator. Most recently Norm served for 4 years on a panel of industry experts that created the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) credential.
  • Sharon Lilly
    Sharon Lilly is a past president of ISA and former chair of the ISA Certification Board. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the commercial sector and has taught arboriculture at the college level. In addition to authoring and producing the interactive CD-ROM series, she is the author of several popular books, including the ISA Arborist Certification Study Guide. More recently, Sharon lead the development of the Tree Risk Assessment Manual and Qualification, as well as the Best Management Practices for Tree Risk Assessment. Sharon continues to write and conduct seminars on many aspects of arboriculture.

An Overview:

This course is the full 3-day TRAQ course for people who have not yet taken the TRAQ class and exam.

You will have the privilege of learning Tree Risk Assessment from Norm Easey and Sharon Lilly, two seasoned TRAQ instructors. They will provide a  thorough presentation of the ISA Tree Assessment Manual accompanied with workbook activities. Indoor instruction will be followed-up with hands-on outdoor demonstrations that will walk you through the skills you need to know to become a knowledgeable Tree Risk Assessor. The 2-day class will conclude with the exam on the 3rd day. You will learn:
