Working with the Experts: Braille for Math and Science

Join the Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired for this two-day workshop on Unified English Braille (UEB) for math and science related materials.  Dr. Frances Mary D'Andrea will be presenting on both UEB for technical materials (math and science) and Nemeth within UEB context.  After this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • describe the structure of UEB and how it supports technical transcriptions
  • accurately braille math and science examples in both UEB and in Nemeth
  • discuss how to support student instruction in technical aspects of UEB and with Nemeth code, including IEP decisions.

To get the most out of this workshop, be sure to bring your Perkins brailler and some braille paper.  Space is limited to 100 participants; register by November 18.

ACVREP and inservice points will be available for this workshop!  As a Florida Department of Education sponsored workshop, there is no cost for registration.

Download the agenda in Word. Registration for this event will close on November 18, 2019.
