Dr. Barra is an Associate Professor and Family Nurse Practitioner at Seton Hall University College of Nursing in New Jersey. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Barra worked in the Battered Women's Shelter, College Health, Hospice, and Assisted Living. Having a broad range of clinical and teaching background in Med-Surg, Maternal/Child, Community, Acute, Chronic, Critical, and Long Term Care, Dr. Barra has been an educator in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs including L.P.N., L.P.N. to R.N., Associate R.N., Generic/Accelerated/Second Degree B.S.N., R.N. to B.S.N., graduate Clinical Nurse Leader and Nurse Practitioner programs. Dr. Barra is a manuscript reviewer for clinical & research papers with the Journal of Clinical Nursing, Nursing Forum, Geriatric Nursing, and International Journal of Palliative Nursing. Her publications focus on clinical practice and teaching in the Journal of Nursing Law, Journal of Cultural Diversity, University of the Philippines Nursing Alumni Association International, and Nursing Forum.
